About iam1ru

iam1ru is the fundraising arm of Possibilities International, a registered charitable humanitarian aid organization. Founded by Sam Welten, PI exists to help fulfill the simple dreams of the hurting, helpless, and hopeless by raising up a nation of everyday philanthropists. The name "iam1ru" stands for "I am one, are you?" -- a statement and a question. It means I am an everyday philanthropist, and it asks you to be one too. Since its inception, PI has led humanitarian aid teams to Guatemala, Mexico, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Liberia, Haiti, and El Salvador. We work alongside people already doing incredible work in their communities, providing resources to build homes, dig wells, fund education, supply medical care, and fulfill simple dreams. The iam1ru $1 campaign is our boldest vision yet: get one million people to each give just one dollar per year. That's it. One dollar. Together, one million small acts become one million dollars of life-changing impact.
